About the New England Patriots palette
The New England Patriots were founded in 1960 and compete in the American Football Conference of the National Football League. Their primary colour, Nautical Blue #002244, is a very dark, muted indigo.
The National Football League divides its thirty-two teams between two conferences, and uniform colour is regulated more tightly here than in any other major league: a team must register its colours with the league, and opposing teams are required to wear contrasting jerseys so that broadcast audiences can tell them apart.
Within the Eastern Division the Patriots face Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. Those are the matchups where two palettes appear in one frame, so they are the pairings most worth checking for a clash.
