About the Boston Celtics palette

The Boston Celtics were founded in 1946 and compete in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. Their primary colour, Celtics Green #007A33, is a mid-tone, saturated green.

National Basketball Association uniforms changed character when the league moved away from fixed home-white and away-colour rules, allowing teams to field several named uniform editions in a season. That makes a single flat team palette less useful here than in any other league, because the colours a team actually wears vary from night to night.

Boston is also home to New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins, which means local broadcast and print work often has to carry more than one of these palettes.
